SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Pappu Kumar Dey is an Associate Professor (on leave) in Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Jahangirnagar University. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in Accounting and Finance at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and has been awarded the RTP Scholarship for this study. He earned his second master's degree in Economic Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan, and completed his BBA and MBA in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Dhaka. For his academic excellence, he was awarded Dean’s Merit and Dean's Honor. Before joining Jahangirnagar University, Pappu held academic positions at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University and Daffodil International University.
Pappu is passionate about archival research, with a focus on the interplay of accounting and financial economics. His research interests extend to corporate sustainability, corporate environmental and social responsibility, and their disclosures and performance. His scholarly work has been published in reputed journals such as International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, Asian Journal of Accounting Research, and Asian Journal of Accounting Perspectives.
